Thanksgiving Dinner with the Brewster Inn

Nov 1, 2012
Restaurant News & Reviews

Believe it or not November is here.  (I’ll give you a minute to confirm).  That means my favorite kitchen holiday is only three weeks away from today.  I’m a traditionalist when it comes to Thanksgiving.  It is the perfect opportunity to go all out in the kitchen.  Now, truth be told, I don’t do it.  Mom does, she has made Thanksgiving dinner for 25 years now at home and she rocks it.  Top to bottom, she makes the perfect traditional Thanksgiving meal.

Others enjoy Thanksgiving dinner at the table of a fine dining establishment of their choice.  This has its benefits and as the huge mess is being cleaned up in the kitchen each year, I often wonder aloud (before slinking off to watch football) if going out for dinner isn’t the better option.

For those who love the idea of a house full of loved ones on Thanksgiving, but hate the idea of baking, cooking and prepping for three days to make a meal that is consumed in 18 minutes, The Brewster Inn in Cazenovia offers a better way.

For $135 you can order your Thanksgiving dinner takeout from the Fish Market counter at the inn.  The dinner comes hot, and ready for you to serve direct to the table.

What does $135 get you? A Roasted Turkey 10-12 pound average, Brewster Chantilly Potatoes, Homemade Stuffing, Gravy, Cranberry sauce, choice of two Vegetables (Buttered Corn, Roasted Squash puree, Green Bean Casserole or Candied Carrots) and two Loaves of Stretch Bread.  The meal serves 6-8 people, so for less that $20 a person you get a gourmet dinner in the comfort of your own home.

You must order in advance by calling 655-9232 or place your order in person so they can reserve your meal.  Dinner orders must be placed before Tuesday November 20nd 5pm.  Dinners will be hot and ready for pick up at your convenience between 12:00 noon and 5:00 pm.  While you are at it, place an order for one of their homemade pies too.  Choose pumpkin, apple, blueberry, or pecan.

All of the gourmet goodness of Thanksgiving dinner, with a much reduced helping of hassle.
