Local Farmers Offering Meat in a CSA

Mar 2, 2012

The past couple of years has seen a recent explosion in the number of Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farms in Madison County. Most of these farms have specialized in vegetables, eggs, cheese etc. Now a group of local farmers has launched a meat CSA including pork and beef deliveries on a regular basis.

The Madison County Ag Economic Development (AED) program is very pleased to announce that the Side Hill Farmers have officially launched their local meat delivery service, also known as a meat CSA. Check it out here:

This is an exciting new business that allows local people to buy meat directly from Madison County farmers. Watch for upcoming Side Hill meat tastings on the AED’s new Facebook page!

We joined the Side Hill Farmers CSA and are extremely pleased with the quality of the meat and the friendly attitude of the farmers and distributors at pickup. Yes, it is premium priced, but it is high quality, local, and incredibly delicious. We are learning that when our meat is not all fats, fluids, and fillers, a little goes a long way. All said, we are savoring more, wasting less, and living healthier. Best of luck Side Hill Farmers!
