Blink and you may miss Bub’s Subs in Wampsville, and that would be your loss. The restaurant sits in a storefront across from the Madison County Office complex and from the outside it looks like a fairly average sandwich shop. Caitlin Traynor of the Oneida Dispatch featured Bub’s Subs this weekend in the paper and there is a lot to the restaurant we didn’t know about.
An effort to use more local products, and less off the food warehouse truck seems to be a hit with their loyal customers. They have also added cooking classes to their stable of offerings. Co-owner Victor Ramirez who used to teach culinary classes explained to Traynor:
“It’s a cross between having dinner and being entertained and being taught something all in one,” he said. “Each course is demonstrated and served, questions are answered and you eat. You get to go away with a full belly, a happy belly, some new information and a whole packet of recipes.”
